The Cryo Rotary Motor (CRM) is a rotational drive with high torque output. An optical encoder can be fitted for closed loop control. In contrast to typical resistive based encoders it has no blind spots and can measure over 360 angular degrees. The moving parts are made out of nonmagnetic phosphor bronze to minimize interaction with external magnetic fields.

The COE (Cryo Optical Encoder) is a fiber based optical encoder that can be added to selected positioners for position feedback. It works by illuminating a grid and detecting high/low intensity transitions from features in the grid. Resolution is determined by the pitch of these features. It is an incremental encoder, which means that it will reset to “zero” at a power shutdown. The COE requires the OEM electronics module as light source and position readout.
